Seven Clean Seas: How It Works
Through our monthly donation, Seven Clean Seas partners with local communities and governments to target areas facing exceptionally high levels of ocean plastic pollution.
Our contributions support their active projects in Singapore, Bali and Bangkok—places where the need is greatest. That said, even a local beach clean-up can make a meaningful impact!
Seven Clean Seas employs local community members as part of their plastic recovery efforts, providing formal, long-term employment contracts with fair pay.
In addition to manpower, they deploy innovative river barrier technologies to intercept plastic waste before it reaches the ocean—crucial, as the majority of ocean plastic originates from rivers.
All projects are backed by third-party certifications, ensuring best practices, long-term impact, and sustainability.
Once collected, the plastic waste is sorted by material type at a Material Recovery Facility. You can see the breakdown of this composition in your impact report below.
After sorting, the plastic is recycled into new materials and products. One powerful example is the production of safe roof tiles for local communities—replacing hazardous asbestos-ridden structures with healthier, more sustainable alternatives.
